May 5: Psalm 125; 1Kings 14:22-16

Song for today: In Moments Like These

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people,
from this time forth and forevermore.
from Psalm 125

And Judah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins that they committed, more than all that their fathers had done. For they also built for themselves high places and pillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree, and there were also male cult prostitutes in the land.

•••
all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.
•••
