January 20: Psalm 20; Matthew 11-13

May Yahweh answer you in the day of distress!
May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high!
May He send you help from the sanctuary
And uphold you from Zion!
May He remember all your meal offerings
And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah.

May He grant you your heart’s desire
And fulfill all your counsel!
We will sing for joy over your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May Yahweh fulfill all your petitions.

January 19: Psalm 19; Matthew 8-10

The law of Yahweh is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of Yahweh is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of Yahweh are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of Yahweh is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of Yahweh are true; they are righteous altogether.
They are more desirable than gold, even more than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, by them Your slave is warned;
In keeping them there is great reward.
Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.
Also keep back Your slave from presumptuous sins;
Let them not rule over me;
Then I will be blameless,
And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Yahweh, my rock and my Redeemer.

January 16: Psalm 16; Matthew 1-2

I will bless Yahweh who has counseled me;
Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.
I have set Yahweh continually before me;
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will dwell securely.
For You will not forsake my soul to Sheol;
You will not give Your Holy One over to see corruption.
You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

January 15: Psalm 15; Genesis 49-50

O Yahweh, who may sojourn in Your tent?
Who may dwell on Your holy mountain?
He who walks blamelessly, and works righteousness,
And speaks truth in his heart.
He does not slander with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his neighbor,
Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
In whose eyes a reprobate is despised,
But who honors those who fear Yahweh;
He swears to his own hurt and does not change;
He does not put out his money at interest,
Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things will never be shaken.

Thus you shall say to Joseph, “Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they dealt evil against you.”’ So now, please forgive the transgression of the slaves of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. Then his brothers also came and fell down before him and said, “Behold, we are your slaves.” But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in God’s place? As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to do what has happened on this day, to keep many people alive. So now, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke to their heart.

January 14: Psalm 14; Genesis 46-48

The wicked fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They act corruptly, they commit abominable deeds;
There is no one who does good.
Yahweh looks down from heaven upon the sons of men
To see if there is anyone who has insight,
Anyone who seeks after God.
They have all turned aside, altogether they have become worthless;
There is no one who does good, not even one.
